Biggest Game Ever?
I have to admit, the TCU-Utah game was pretty awesome, but I don't know about people calling it the best game ever. The Blackout was pretty cool, and it was the first time Utah, while ranked, has played a ranked team at home, and it was far better than the Fiesta Bowl, but still. The game was low scoring, centering on defensive stops. And TCU's only points came in the first few minutes of the first half. It was a defensively oriented game, and therefore cannot be as exciting. I also want to make a few arguements (of course).
Why is everyone praising Brian Johnson?
He really didn't do that well, except for the final two minutes of the game. People are throwing out MVP of the game, are you kidding me! MVP goes to Dustin Hensel who shut down Hughes, the best rusher in the nation. BJ only got sacked twice, the Offensive Line was amazing.
I hate Ludwig.
The momentum is pumping, the team is working down the field, then just when it the Utes were alsmost in feild goal range, Ludwig calls the exact opposite of what he should call. 3rd and 7 - he calls a rush, 4th and 2, he calls a pass, and that reverse that got them nowhere, what was he thinking? A reverse is NOT going to work on such a fast team. Then there was the fumbleroosky play where BJ knelt down and ... I can't even explain it. Matt put it best after the play when he said "It's just Hogle Zoo out there." The other problem is that no one is going to fire him anytime soon because they keep pulling out wins, despite his horrible calls. You can't fire a coach who will get at least 11 wins this season.
Defense
The U defense was amazing, and I can't believe how much they were hung out to dry by the offense. There were a lot of 3 and out's, props to them.
Kickers
Louie Sakoda is amazing, but his punts were horrible. He made up for it with that long field goal, but still. Then there is TCU's kicker. For a second I felt bad that he missed two field goals, both around the thirty yard line, but then when it was 13 to 10, less than a minute left, and TCU was charging down the field, I found myself saying, "Well, we don't have to worry about them getting in field goal range, cause the kicker won't make it."
